In an effort to involve the youth of the region in planning for the city’s future, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC)-the official planning agency for the 10-county Atlanta region-created a dynamic youth leadership program in 1998 called the Model Atlanta Regional Commission (MARC). It is designed to bring metro area high school students together to address key issues affecting the Atlanta region. The group meets 5 Saturdays and one overnight retreat in October (starting in September, 2007 and ending February, 2008). Applications postmarked March 30, 2007.
